Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs (NCMI91M)

Campers will design their own projects as well as manufacture and assemble their creation. This camp includes an introduction to blue print reading, use of solid works to design 3D models, work with robotics, and CNC lathes. Students will also tour Manchester-area companies. Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs camp includes Friday and has a field trip on Wednesday for campers.

We have a four year young manufacturing lab which includes industry grade robots, laser engravers, parametric modeling software, 3D printers, Computer Numerical Control machines (CNC machines), as well as other state of the art manufacturing equipment. In camp we will discuss safety and learn how to use these machines to make products. In the past we have made wall clocks, LED poster, 3D printed parts, picture frames, key chains, desk plaques, and much more. Each day we bring in guest speakers in engineering to talk about career pathways. Guest speakers include companies like:

  • Dell
  • DYN
  • Airmar
  • Degree Controls
  • Silvertech
  • Hitchiner
  • Harvey
  • Burndy
  • Velcro

...and more!
