Each year Student Senate puts on a series of events in an effort to improve the MCC environment.
Held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters, the Club Fair is a gathering of all the student clubs and organizations on campus where new and returning students can inquire with the clubs in a social setting. Student clubs use the Club Fair as a recruiting opportunity to build membership for the upcoming semester(s).
The Thursday before Thanksgiving each year, all students, faculty and staff gather together to share a traditional American feast. This is particularly meaningful for our international students who may not have experienced this tradition previously. A canned food drive or other service project is often linked to this event.
Student Leadership Celebration
Senate recognizes graduating students who have exhibited the qualities of excellence throughout their time at MCC. Recipients are recommended by each club and organization and awarded at a special luncheon ceremony.
Senate reaches out to thank the MCC faculty and staff for their support of the student body through a gesture of appreciation at the end of each academic year.
Senate holds a BBQ each year on graduation day between rehearsal and commencement. This event brings together graduating students, their family and friends and faculty and staff for a final celebration. Graduating students are presented with a parting gift in remembrance of their MCC experience.
