MCC continues to monitor developments on the spread of the Coronavirus. In response to the COVID-19 health situation, public events previously scheduled to be held at MCC have been cancelled until further notice. The public currently has extremely limited access to the MCC campus and classes are being conducted online (with the majority of our staff working remotely.) REAL HELP, RIGHT NOW: New Summer Scholarships, Gift Cards to Students in Need and Professional Mental Health Services Now Available

Posted: May 01, 2020

In an effort to increase access to college courses during the summer, current Manchester Community College (MCC) students in all academic programs are now eligible to apply for summer scholarships to pay for up to two MCC classes (includes both tuition and fees.) Selection criteria is based on minimum GPA, number of credits already earned and enrolling in Fall 2020 classes.

“Research has shown again and again that students who take summer courses are more successful at getting to the finish line and attaining their college degrees,” says MCC President Brian Bicknell. “Although it isn’t yet clear what our fall semester will look like, we want our students to know we are open for business for summer classes and we are here to help cover the costs. As we prepare for a return to classes this fall, we are developing alternative plans to ensure students have access to the classes they need – whether in-person, hybrid, remote or online.”

The scholarship application is available here and students need to work with their academic advisors to finalize the application by May 11, 2020.

Registration for summer and fall classes is now open!

In recognition of the toll the pandemic may be taking on families, MCC students may also reach out to advisors if they are suffering as a result of the COVID-19 health situation – whether to discuss academic issues or to request a gift card for necessities.
