MCC Students Honored at 20th Annual Evening of Excellence Awards
Manchester, NH – On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, MCC students were awarded for their academic and personal achievements at the 20th Annual Evening of Excellence celebrated at the Derryfield Restaurant in Manchester, NH.
The recipients of the Academic Program Achievement Awards are decided by faculty members in each department. The awards recognize students who excel in their majors based on cumulative grade point average, skill or expertise and achievements of program goals.

The Excellence in Leadership Award is presented to the student who demonstrates exemplary leadership qualities and skills exhibited in or outside of the classroom, internships, service, employment or community roles. Outstanding skills may include the ability to clearly and effectively articulate a vision, ethical decision making, teambuilding, critical problem solving, and motivating others toward a common goal.
Award Recipient: Chris Scales, HVAC
The Excellence as a Humanitarian Award is presented to the student who gives of their time and talents selflessly in service to others. This individual sees the value in the 'undervalued', seeks opportunities to have a positive impact on the lives of others, and has actively sought to make changes for the betterment of the college, the community and/or the world.
Award Recipient: Ryan Thomas, Nursing
The Excellence in Inspiration Award is presented to the student who has inspired others to achieve, to make changes, to reflect on their own life. This student provides support and encouragement to others. This student may have succeeded despite challenges and obstacles through their positive attitude and commitment to achieve, thus serving as a role model to others.
Award Recipient: Sandra Boileau, Accounting
The Vice President of Students Award is presented to the student who diligently and enthusiastically works to improve the college experience for other students by identifying a need, issue, or concern and actively works to achieve positive results. This student takes initiative, is solution focused, inclusive, and inspires others to take action. They give back to the MCC community in a meaningful way.
