On the evening of November 19th, dodgeballers from around New England came together at Manchester Community College for a special charity fundraising event benefiting 'Give Kids the World Village' and MCC's Community Service Team.

Manchester Community College (MCC) teamed up with the New Hampshire Sports & Social Club (NHSSC) and successfully hosted its first major public event in the its new Student Center.

Over 100 players spread across two divisions competed in this one-night charity tournament. When not competing on the court, players and spectators were swarming raffle tables holding over forty prizes generously donated by local area business and individuals. Together the tournament and raffle events raised over $2,200 with 100% of the proceeds going towards the MCC Community Service Team, gearing up for their first trip to 'Give Kids The World Village' in Florida.

Located in Kissimmee, the 'Give Kids The World Village' is a non-profit organization that exists only to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world. Each child gets to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attraction.

After a successful charity event and campus-wide excitement following it, MCC is excited for the prospect of similar events and a continuous relationship with NHSSC.

"The buzz created from this event certainly has us looking forward to bringing more sports to MCC. I think this is just the beginning of a great community partnership," said Aileen Clay, Director of Student Life.
