After 15 years in the finance industry, Nicole was ready for a career change. The Candia native, who "loves working with my hands," is now studying blueprint reading, metallurgy, and CAD as a Welding major. In her old career, "I felt like I was doing more talking than anything …" when what she really wanted was a job where the end result was something tangible. Welding will give her the ability to earn a living with her technical skills and to use those same skills artistically in the metal arts and in fabrication.
"I've been inspired at MCC by teachers like Mr. Hanna, who teaches Welding Theory. He has invaluable real-world knowledge that he is happy to share. He’s a great example of what I like most about MCC. As soon as you walk in, you feel the sensation of community in the atmosphere; it's entrenched in the culture of MCC."
Nicole is the mother of a 10-year-old son. When she's not in class, or practicing in the welding lab, or working in the Academic Success Center as a tutor, Nicole stays busy as a member of MCC Pride and the Guitar Club.
