How to Apply

Student Eligibility

To receive aid from the student aid programs, you must:

  • Have financial need, with the exception of some loan programs.
  • Have a high school diploma, a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Be accepted and enrolled as a matriculated student.
  • Be working toward a degree or a certificate in a financial aid eligible program. Check with the Financial Aid Department to determine if your program is eligible.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Have a valid Social Security number.
  • Return all required documentation to the Financial Aid Office.
  • See Financial Aid Funds Defined to ensure you meet all criteria for loan programs.
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as outlined in the 2018-2019 Financial Aid Handbook, see the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy section.

Applying for Federal Student Aid

  1. To apply for an FSA ID, go to fsaid.ed.gov
  2. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to apply online. (This takes up to 2 weeks to process after submitted to the Department of Education)
  3. To ensure that you have enough time to complete the Financial Aid process before payment/payment arrangement is due (one week into the semester), please start the Financial Aid process 8 weeks before classes commence. If your financial aid process is not complete by the payment/payment arrangement deadline, you will be responsible for all charges and will be reimbursed once your financial aid has been awarded/disbursed to your student account.
