ETEC150M - Power, Transformers and Rotating Machinery (3-3-4)

This course presents information on the theory of operation, application and installation practices pertaining to equipment that provides for electrical power generation, transmission and use. The course covers energy and power conversion, AC and DC power systems, power quality considerations, AC and DC generators, transformers and AC and DC motors. The National Electrical Code will be referenced throughout this course as it applies to the subject matter. The material presented in this course satisfies NH Electrical Apprentice training requirements. Laboratory work will reinforce and promote the application of theoretical concepts. Prerequisites: ETEC120M or permission of the Program Coordinator. Corequisite: MATH151M.
