Whether you’re here as a recent or not-so-recent high school graduate, MCC Essentials will introduce you to the people, resources, and services that will help you reach your goal of career or transfer. Core content includes planning and goal setting to ensure the best use of your time and money; the policies, offices, and services you need to know as a student; and a refresher on some of the basic skills critical to your success, including time management, reading to recall information, and effective study skills. Most importantly, the course is about connecting you to your faculty, your advisors, and your peers to help you create a strong campus community and a healthy support system. This course is required in the first semester for new students. Transfer students meeting certain criteria may qualify for a course waiver and should consult their advisor for details.
