Placement & Testing

English and Math Placement

Any student enrolling in coursework at Manchester Community College will be required to provide information to be accurately placed into coursework for writing and mathematics prior to registering for classes with prerequisites.

MCC is placing students by utilizing multiple measures of assessment. We will review your high school transcript, SAT scores or Hi-Set scores to place you in relevant math and English coursework. If your transcripts or scores are greater than five years old, please contact the advising team for placement. Additionaly, if you have previously earned college coursework, this can be considered for placement regardless of how long ago the credit was earned. You can reach the advising team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or (603) 206-8140.

If your HS transcript, SAT scores or Hi-Set scores were completed within the last 5 years, your academic advisor can assist you with placement. View the Academic Advisors list to determine who your advisor is based on your major.
